The eaglets' woolly thermal down and rapidly emerging juvenile flight and deck feathers make them a water-resistant (a good thing, given today's rain!), although they won't be water-tight until their juvenile feathers are fully grown in. Bites have gone from small to large to 'can you really get that down?' Mom watched very closely as D29 wolfed down a very large bite today, appearing to pay attention until whatever-it-was was all the way down!
